Magdalen Place Wedding, Abbeville, LA

February 4, 2022

In January Morgan & Jacob were married in Abbeville, LA – the ceremony took place at St. Mary Magdalen Church, then guests walked to nearby Magdalen Place for the reception. It was a day filled with so much love, a lot of laughter, a few goosebumps and a dang good time!

For this wedding I was booked for Month Of Coordination – I met with Morgan & Jacob about a month prior to their wedding where they walked me through everything they had planned and how they envisioned the day going. Leading up to their big day I touch based with all of their vendors to confirm all final details. I was present their entire wedding day to ensure everything flowed smoothly and stayed on time!

The girls prepped for the big day at The Caldwell House – when I arrived they were all so relaxed and jamming to some serious pump up tunes….que Lizzo! The Caldwell House made the perfect backdrop for detail shots and man, where there some beautiful details included. All of Morgan’s classic jewelry paired with florals from Andrea Menard and the invitation suite from SB Creative is truly what dreams are made of!

Morgan & Jacob have been together since high school and it was very obvious that this day was long awaited. It wasn’t hard to see how comfortable the two are together and feel the love that they have for each other. They shared the sweetest first look in the yard of The Caldwell House.

The whole day was filled with so many sweet moments and you could feel the love radiating from their families and friends. The bridesmaids made sure to add in a little fun by creating Tik Toks while getting ready and the groomsmen kept everyone giggling with sly comments during the photos. Everyone was such troopers to brave the cold for the pre-ceremony photos and I can’t even express how much it was worth it – Clare and Steven with The Bertrands Photography were able to create pure photography magic before we lost daylight!

Morgan’s beautiful gown from Le Jour Couture looked like it was hand made just for her! The bridesmaids all wore matching blush dresses from Bella Bridesmaids and I loved the pop of color they gave to the day. The groom and groomsmen could not have looked more handsome in their perfectly tailored suits from Mary Ellen’s Tux Shop.

At 6:30pm the church doors opened and Morgan was escorted by her father down the aisle to the alter where Jacob was waiting. In the most gorgeous church Morgan & Jacob said their vows and promised forever in front of all their friends & family. The ceremony included giggles, a few happy tears from those in the front rows and two REALLY cute flower girls!

Every reception detail was so thoughtful and included so many personal touches. There was a memory table for those that could only be there in spirit, personalized koozies for guests and a painting of St. Mary Magdalen, which was a gift from Jacob’s Grandmother, was displayed. The white and blush centerpieces really meshed well with the gold chivari chairs and the string lights made the room feel so romantic.

Bon Temps Catering never disappoints and this night was no exception. Guests were greeted with passed appetizers and there was even fried alligator on the buffet menu (fun fact – Jacob is a gator farmer). After dinner the most delicious cakes were waiting for the guest to enjoy by the oh so talented, Piece of Cake Lafayette – I loved the simple beauty of these cakes!

It was no secret that this group was ready for a good time and came to party! After all of the official business was taken care of at the reception, they hit the dance floor and didn’t get off until it was time for the grand exit. Jared Vance with Aaron Lane Entertainment kept the party going all night long and Bai Booth was a huge hit with the guests. No doubt that this crew had a great time and will be talking about this night for many years to come!

Morgan & Jacob are such a sweet couple and were surrounded by so many great folks during their big day- I’m so happy I was able to spend it with them! This will always be one of my favorite days of 2022 and I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to kick off the year!

LEIGH-ANN, BRIDE

She is thinking about things you aren’t thinking about, doing things you wouldn’t think to do, and taking care of stuff you would have lost had she not been there. The day of timeline that she created and communicated to our vendors allowed me the peace of mind that everyone knew where to be and when.
